That's just 'feats' basically, similar to talent trees you have in WoW/Diablo 2(Not similar to the attributes panel in GW).
p.s. I assume classes will be balanced with time, but atm Barbarians, Necros and Rangers are pretty OP, rest of the classes except Assassins are solid. Assassins suck....a lot

You dont *need* one, but its the best reccomended for high details and a good frame rate.
The minimum requirement is a 6600 GT. That means that a 6600 GT will run the game at 1024x768 and everything turned off with not to great a frame rate (really, it wont be 30+ FPS everywhere in the game on minimum spec)
Reccomended is a 7900 GTX for 1280x960 with *Most settings turned on*.
But as every setting has variable options, that could just mean *most* options turned on to medium, and not neccesarilly high. Also, I doubt it means you will be playing with any AA, most likely AA turned off, 1280x960, most of settings enabled.
If you really want good settings for nice graphics, AA and a decent framrate, you will be wanting a current mid range card at least. That is ATI 3870, 9600 GT, or even better for the money, an 8800 GT. But then once you activate DX10 graphics, frame rates are going to be terrible on these cards just like in any other DX10 game.
For absolute maximum settings, a high resolution and AA, you will likely require SLI 8800's or Crossfire 3870's.
AoC is the best looking MMO yet, a first designed as a DX10 game, and it is far far more demanding on PC's then Oblivion is.
Now I just wonder what GW2 is going to be like o.O.

He meant the defense shield system. Your character gets 3 'shield' lines that you can swap around your character to defend from attacks in those directions. You can have one shield left, right and above you for a small amount of defense in each area, or all three covering one side while you have no defence on the others.
The tactic is to watch where you are being attacked from, and move your defense around to mitigate the attacks. So basically you need to decide the direction you defend in, rather then your armor and shield reducing damage from every blow that lands anywhere on your body.

Huh?
Pay to play will mean more content, in-game devs, ub3r weapons/loot etc
Not to mention the fact guilds of 30+ can build their own town/outpost etc
$15 is cheap for what AoC potentially offers.

I just have two questions:
* Is there respecing? Is it free?
* Is there map travel or other nongrindy, nongold sink travel?

I don't think you could make an MMO like that without respeccing. I mean you could try, but people would get pissed if they had to delete and remake their PC because one or two feats got nerfed. Not sure what the costs are.

There's no map travel. You get mounts for faster travel and such.

I am asking because quite few MMos/MMo like games feature either:
* No respecing (and devs boasting how it kills fotm stuff and promotes creativity. Sigh.)
* Insanely grindy respecing (I am not playing 20+hours to get enough of whatever it takes to respec)
* Patch-respecing (only allowing to respec when ballance update comes)
Few (none that i know of) feature GW-like freedom.
And Conan website does not say anything about respecing. Nor does wiki, so i am afraid of the worst.

Can't use a mount until level 40 though.

Zwei, we'll all find out as soon as the NDA is lifted. I'm more of a free repec on demand person (maybe just in towns or whatever). FOTM is fine and certainly better than either:
A. Being stuck with a gimped character forever
B. Being forced to grind XP or Money as if you haven't already grinded enough
C. Being forced to wait until the next round of buffs/nerfs and hope you pick the right one.

Pay to play will hopefully also keep out the foul mouthed little brats.

it looks crap and seems to have unoriginal gameplay. the story and setting may be creative, but this is a subscription based MMo like all the others out there.

Unoriginal gameplay?
So guilds being able to build their own towns/keeps is unoriginal?
Guilds being bale to challenge other guilds is unoriginal?
The ability to change your angle of attack is unoriginal?
More research for you.

SB and EVE again.

Original for an MMO, but bad for the joints.

EVE is all about building ships though. It's no different then getting new armour for your char.
Shadowbane I'd never heard of.

My preorder finally arrived and I'm very curious about the soundtrack included in the CE. It's not what most people care about but the OST for the original movie is a classic and from what I could hear and gather they cared a lot about the ingame music.
This game definitely needs polishing, but I'll give it enough time before I make my final judgement.

Am downloading the client for the open beta now (all 12GB of it... ouch); when I registered the beta key with Funcom (about 30 mins ago) I still had to 'sign' a NDA.
Got a CE pre-order (US edition) on the way hopefully. It feels like a bit of a gamble, but I'm excited nonetheless.
